Program overview
Malnutrition is a major problem in Haiti, and it seriously impedes the physical growth and mental development of children. The Baby Feeding Program exists to protect and strengthen the lives of vulnerable infants during their most critical stage of development. In the first three years of life, proper nutrition directly impacts brain growth, immune function, physical development, and long-term health outcomes. So, Monday through Friday each week, Christian Light School feeds approximately 80 babies in the Grand Ravine of Delmas (Ayiti Blok).
Through this program, we provide targeted nutritional support to infants and toddlers who are at risk of malnutrition. This may include infant formula, fortified supplements, and essential nutritional food for babies. Our goal is not only to address immediate hunger, but to build a healthy foundation that supports lifelong growth and learning.

How the Program Works
Children are identified based on nutritional risk and family need through a census made in the ravine twice a year. Once enrolled, they receive consistent, age-appropriate nutritional support designed to promote healthy weight gain and development.
In addition to providing nourishment, we monitor growth and offer guidance to parents and caregivers on safe feeding practices and infant care. This integrated approach ensures that families are equipped with both the resources and knowledge necessary to sustain their child’s well-being.
Accountability and safety are central to the program. All food and supplements distributed meet appropriate safety standards, and we prioritize careful stewardship of every resource entrusted to us.
